When I first started the Sich Style Instagram account, I never really expected to see much success. I started it as a way to share my passion for style and fashion, but ended up finding such an amazing, supportive community of like-minded people. Since there have been so many new faces around the blog and Instagram account, I wanted to give people an opportunity to get to know me better!
I am a big animal lover
I have been absolutely crazy about animals since I was a little girl. Growing up, I preferred my plastic horses, farm animal toys, and stuffed animals to traditional girly toys like Barbies. I love animals of all kinds, from cats, to dogs, to bunnies, to horses. I rode dressage into my teenage years, and I have a deep sense of love and appreciation for horses. When I was living in Montana and doing a marketing internship at a guest ranch, I got to lead trail rides for clients and it was easily my favorite part of the whole experience. I have loved spending time volunteering at humane societies in the communities that I have lived in, and my fiance and I recently adopted a 7-year-old corgi mix!
I speak three languages
The three languages that I speak are English, French, and Polish. My mom’s entire family is from Poland. She and her siblings were born there, and have spoken polish for their entire lives. While I was never formally taught polish, it was always a huge part of my family’s culture and I grew up hearing it all the time. I took French in high school, and loved it so much that I minored in it in college. I have been to France twice, and I can’t wait to go again!
I’m engaged
You may have read about this in a previous blog post, but I have been very happily engaged to the love of my life since September of 2018. We were supposed to be married this coming weekend (May 30), but had to postpone our wedding due to the pandemic. We met when we were both living in Montana in September of 2017. We both went to the University of Montana for our undergraduate studies, but didn’t actually meet each other until I went back for graduate school. He grew up in Seattle, and works in science/bioinformatics! I think he’s incredibly smart and sweet, and I’m so, so happy he’s mine.
I have a master’s degree in Business Analytics
I always knew that I wanted to work in business, and that I wanted to help make a difference in the day-to-day operations of the company through my specific knowledge and skills. I got my bachelor’s degree with a double major in Marketing and International Business plus a double minor in Communication Studies and French in 2016. After working in Chicago for about a year I went back to school to further my education because I wanted to add a technical element to my skill set. I learned to code, completed many research projects for both school and for work, and got my master’s degree in May of 2018. My life has 100% changed for the better, and couldn’t be happier with my decision.
I was a gymnast for twelve years
Gymnastics was a huge part of my life growing up. I was a competitive gymnast for twelve years, which I honestly believe shaped my view of intrinsic determination, drive to succeed, and general athleticism. I loved the competitive atmosphere, and learned how amazing it feels to achieve things that I had put a lot of effort towards. I can still flip and do the splits, and was actually a gymnastics coach for a couple years while I was in college!
