Three Ways to Spice Up a Simple Outfit

As someone who finds herself constantly reaching for neutrals, there have been many times that I have put on a simple outfit and felt like it was missing something. I feel like I can't be the only one who has lived out that experience a million times, so today I am listing out the three things that I like to do to add that extra little bit of oomph to an ordinary outfit!
Add a pop of color

I have an entire closet full of monochromatic hues. I have recently been challenging myself to add more colorful options to my closet, and I have been really happy with the results! I like to keep the pieces themselves relatively simple, and let the colorful element do the talking. I really love this pair of coral paper bag shorts, especially for summer!
Incorporate a print

Considering how much I love neutral colors, I feel like I have always loved prints to a somewhat surprising extent. Whether you want to involve color through a feminine floral print, brown hues through cheetah print, or monochromatic hues through a sleek snake print, the addition of a print really has the power to set an outfit apart. As a rule of thumb, I like to keep most of my outfit simple with one printed element so that it doesn't become overwhelming!
Accessorize

Whether you decide to go with a hat, fun bag, or a killer pair of shoes accessories are a great way to make a statement while still adding a functional element to your outfit! In the outfit pictured above, I ended up matching my hat with some cute suede mules, and I felt perfectly put together. Extra points if you incorporate colors and prints in your accessories - in my opinion, they only make those accessory choices better!
These three guidelines are my back pocket-go to style hacks. I hope that they inspire you to add some flair to your everyday outfits, and save you from feeling drab in your everyday outfit choices!
