Summer is right around the corner, so now is the perfect time to put away your cold-weather clothes for the season and find your go-to warm weather staple pieces! Personally, I have been really excited about stocking up on trendy summer staples, so I thought that I would list out some Summer 2020 must-have items.

Cute Sandals

Whether you prefer them to be platforms, wedges, or flat, a good pair of go-to sandals is a must have for summer. I have been loving strappy espadrille looks, as well as colorful flats. They’re super comfy and a fun way to add a sporty, classy, or girly element to a plain sundress, and will be sure to keep your feet nice and cool.

White Pants

There’s nothing beachier than a pair of white pants. I think that they are so flattering on everyone, and add such a pretty feminine touch. The light color won’t attract sunlight, so they’ll keep you cool in the warm months, and are perfect for transitioning from shopping and hanging out during the day to chilly walk along the beach in the evening. There are endless ways to style them depending on the look that you are going for, so they are a great staple piece to keep on hand.

Babydoll Dresses

Babydoll dresses are taking the style world by storm this year. They are inherently fun and whimsical, and their flowy nature ensures that you’ll stay cool on hot days. They can be dressed up with a fun pair of heels and beachy waves for a date night, and they look equally as cute with some sandals and a bun. I am really looking forward to styling mine in the coming months!

Fun Shorts

Growing up, Chicago summers were incredibly hot and humid. In July, it would be so hot that you would start sweating the second that you went outside. Jeans were absolutely out of the question during the hotter months, so I gained a great appreciation for cute shorts. I love a pair of distressed denim shorts with a plain tee or crop top for a low-key day with my fiance, and I also love paper bag shorts (in varying colors) for a dressier look.

Midi Skirts

Whether you opt for a 60’s inspired a-line skirt to add color or pattern to an outfit, or you opt for a sleeker style with a slit, midi skirts are a stylish way to keep cool. Add a ruffled or bow neck tank top for a girly aesthetic, or pair it with a graphic tee for a cool, edgy look. You really can’t go wrong!

I simply can't wait to wear the items listed above out and about once quarantine is over! Which summer styles are you dying to wear?
